Celebrate My Drive with State Farm
Disclosure: I was compensated for this post. All opinions expressed are 100% my own.
My oldest will be getting her driver’s license in less than a year and I have to admit that scares the heck out of me! I’m sure she will be a responsible driver and will learn how to drive safely through driver’s ed, but I can’t help to be a little apprehensive. She’ll always be my baby girl no matter how old she is. Too often I’m reading news stories about teens dying in car crashes. It hurts my heart to see young lives taken away at such a tender age.
Car crashes are the number one cause of death for teens in North America. I’m sure all of us know someone who has died tragically this way in a car crash. For me personally, I know people I went to high school with who died in car accidents. It’s just so sad.
It’s for this reason that I think the Celebrate My Drive program by State Farm is so important. It’s goal is to encourage a lifelong commitment to safe driving right from the beginning. The Celebrate My Drive program shines the spotlight on teen driver safety in a fun, positive way and helps to educate them on the importance of auto safety. Driver safety is an important topic for everyone no matter how old they are.
The fabulous Kelly Clarkson has teamed up with Celebrate My Drive to encourage teens to sign up. She’s an amazing and talented singer. I remember watching her on American Idol over 10 years ago. She’s an inspiration! A Kelly Clarkson concert is part of the grand prize package- read on!
Teens have until October 17th to register their high school in the Celebrate My Drive program and be entered to win the grand prize package. It includes a $100,000 USD grant + a Kelly Clarkson concert at the winner’s high school! How cool is that? Even better yet, there’s two winners for the grand prize package!
So far more than 2,000 high schools in Canada & the USA have registered. Visit Celebrate My Drive to register. Find your school in the drop down list. If it’s not yet listed, ask an administrator (like the principal) to register your scho0l.
Then during National Teen Driver Safety Week which runs from October 20th to 26th, make a commitment to safe driving. You can stay up-to-date by visiting Celebrate My Drive on Facebook.
So please if you have a teen, please talk to them about the Celebrate My Drive program and register their high school. Not only will they have a chance to win the amazing grand prize package, but they’ll also learn about the importance of being a responsible driver.
