San Francisco by OPI Review

San Francisco is one place I’ve never been, but would love to go! I’ve seen so many movies set in the city by the bay and I picture the hilly streets and the iconic Golden Gate bridge. One day I’ll make a point of going there for a vacation and can play tourist.
Until then, I’ll be getting my fix with the new OPI Fall/Winter 2013 collection, San Francisco! It features 15 new shades that reflect the sophisticated, yet eclectic style of the modern San Francisco woman.
Even the names are urban chic!
A-Piers to Be Tan: I shore do like this chocolaty tan.
Dining al Frisco: Just feast your eyes on this fresh-air blue!
Haven’t the Foggiest: Can’t tell you why I love this misty gray…I just do!
Peace & Love & OPI: This holographic sage and eggplant is far out!
Keeping Suzi at Bay: There’s no holding back this assertive navy blue.
Incognito in Sausalito: You better keep this almost-black blue under wraps.
Lost on Lombard: Oh garn-et! I’m all turned around!
I Knead Sour-Dough: Are you bready to wear this toasty warm brown?
Muir Muir on the Wall: This trailblazing plum is the fairest of all.
In the Cable Car-Pool Lane: Good golly, Miss Trolley, this rich burgundy takes me away!
Embarca-Dare Ya!: Betcha can’t pass up this marvelous magenta.
First Date at the Golden Gate: You and me and this shimmery ruby make three.
It’s All San Andreas’s Fault: I’d move mountains to get this textured earthy taupe!
Wharf! Wharf! Wharf!: Dog-gone it…fetch me that textured matte blue!
Alcatraz…Rocks: There’s no escaping this arresting textured gray.
San Francisco by OPI includes these three new Liquid Sand nail lacquers. They have a matte, textured finish so when you rub your finger along your polish it will feel a bit rough and very much like sand! I have the blue colour on my toe nails right now. Even though its a matte finish, it still pops and shines when the light hits it. No top coat is required for the Liquid Sand.

For warmer tones, the San Francisco Collection features these beautiful shades of reds and purples.

I think the cooler colours are my favourites from the collection. I’ve been wearing the silver colour called Haven’t the Foggiest. It’s shimmery and reminds me of my mom’s silver soldering she used to do on her stain glass projects. It’s like liquid silver to me. It has an elegant look and would perfect to wear for something fancy. I enjoy wearing it day to day even though I’m not going anywhere. It’s fun to take a little “me time” and get dolled up even if you have no place to go but the grocery store or post office!

I’m getting better at painting my own nails. I took my time and went really slow. It’s still not easy though! It definitely helps that OPI has their exclusive ProWide™ Brush. Now if I only I could grow them a little longer.
The San Francisco collection is available on August 7, 2013 at professional salons and spas at a SRP of $10.95 for each nail lacquer.
