Educents Review

Disclosure: I was not financially compensated for this post. I received a sample of the product for review purposes. The opinions are my own, based on my personal experience with the product.

I am a home educating mother of three children in 3rd grade, 1st grade and kindergarten. I am always excited to discover new educational resources, especially at great prices. Educents is a treasure trove of discounted limited time deals featuring the best educational products at the best prices available. In fact, I have found several great books, curriculum, enrichment resources and even computer programs for use in our homeschool this coming fall. Educents is the perfect resource for parents, teachers and homeschooling families who are looking to save money without sacrificing quality.

One example of a great deal you won’t want to miss out on is the Amazing World Records Series by Sunflower Education. Featuring Amazing World Records of Geography, Amazing World Records of History, Amazing World Records of Language & Literature, Amazing World Records of Science & Technology and Amazing World Records of Weather, each innovate book will also include 20 innovative, integrated lessons plans to help teach the key concepts to students.

Like most children, my children have a natural curiosity and love to learn amazing facts about our world highlighting the biggest, best and greatest things to have happened throughout our history. I really like the concept of this book series because the children are not only learning a fact but can actually bring it to life with a coordinating lesson and hands on activities. This set is geared towards 3rd through 10th grade students however I have found that it is easily adaptable for use with my own children based upon their skill levels.

My eight year old son loves to study meteorology so I was confident that he would enjoy Amazing World Records of Weather and we were not disappointed. This book features a wealth of information such as the sunniest place, hottest place, worst flood, worst weather disaster, worst weather and the greatest rainfall. I like that it includes the full color book (PDF download format) with an additional set of activity sheets. Since we live in Florida, I led our lesson for the day by introducing the fact that the “highest temperature is 136 degree Fahrenheit. This led to the activity where the children learned how to read a thermometer and recorded our temperature on that day which had a high of 96 degrees.

We are also studying history so I was very interested in learning more about Amazing World Records of History. This fascinating and engaging book features highlights such as the largest ancient city, the oldest work of art, the earliest machines (my son loved this section), the oldest weapons, deadliest battle and so much more. We learned about the world’s largest ancient, Rome which lead to the children finding it on the globe, a map making activity and a re-enactment, role playing exercise about what it would have been like to be a child during that time in history.

I was very impressed with the content and material presented in these two books which I used in the PDS download format. I can print the sections and activities that I will be using and reference the books as needed. Each of these books is also available in hard copy as a set too!

Educents currently is offering an excellent deal that you won’t want to miss featuring a bundle of all the books in this series as a PDF downloadable file for 50% off the retail price…..only $42.50 for all 5 books! If you prefer the hardcopy this is available for only $59 with free shipping which is a 30% off savings!
