With road trip season coming up fast, I’m thrilled to have some new children’s CDs in my collection to keep my kids entertained on long car trips. And what makes me even happier is that the CDs I received all have a positive message for kids and really catchy tunes. I received four children’s CDs for review that I am happy to recommend to all parents. They are:
“Deep Sea Diver” from Recess Monkey. This group is great. We have another Recess Monkey CD in our collection that we listen to all the time, so I knew we would love their latest release. This CD is a collection of high energy ocean-themed songs that are fun, with catchy lyrics. My oldest particularly likes the Fish Sticks song (and I have to admit, I find myself singing along to that one too!). This album is Recess Monkey’s ninth CD to hit the market and it’s set to go on sale starting June 18th for an MSRP of $14.99. The CD is recommended for ages 2-8, and it runs 42 minutes.
This is the world premiere of Recess Monkey’s “Up Periscope” video!
“I Like Everything About You (Yes I Do!) from Crosspulse Percussion Ensemble. This is the groups first CD for children and I hope they set out to do more! I happen to love the sound of percussion instruments, so this CD was a treat for me and the kiddos. This CD really has a funky vibe to it and really gets you into its rhythm. Me and my boys all agreed that our favorite song on this CD is the first one – “Walkin’ the Dog”. This CD also runs 42 minutes with an MSRP of $15.00. This CD is set to release in July.
“Whatever I Want To Be” from Young Avenue Kids‘. The great thing about this CD is that children are singing, which really drew my two boys into it. The lyrics are easy to follow along with – even my two year old was able to repeat some verses. There are positive messages about cleaning up and brushing your teeth, set to fun, catchy tunes. This CD, recommended for ages 2-8, is set to release May 28th with an MSRP of $12.98. This CD runs 52 minutes.
“Jump On The Bandwagon” from Joanie Leeds & The Nightlights. This album covers all the genres – country, hip hop, rock and roll, and pop. It’s filled with great songs that all ages can appreciate – even a rewrite of Stevie Wonder’s hit “Superstition”. The songs all have a positive message for children about things like school, family and nutrition. This CD is recommended for ages 1-9, set to release June 25th. The MSRP is $15.00 and the CD runs 42 minutes.
The great thing about all these CDs is that you don’t have to worry about inappropriate language. You can pop these in your CD changer and walk away! Or just let them play over and over in your car on long trips. Your kids will love that they can relate to the lyrics and will be able to easily pick up and sing along to the tunes.
One lucky reader will win all the CDs featured in this review!
