I’ll admit that I really haven’t been paying too much attention to my nails since I left my full-time job in 2007. I used to always have immaculate nails and loved to play around with different polishes depending on my mood. I’m finally starting to get back into painting my nails and experimenting with new colours. Both my girls love having polish parties where we all paint each others fingers and toes and now I’m finally joining in as a participant!
I’m starting my summer out with a bright, bold new look with OPI Neon Revolution mini pack. It includes four limited edition neon nail lacquers, neon white base coat and OPI top coat. The colours are really fun, loud and make a statement and include:
- Don’t Say It- Yellow It!: Make a statement in this spiked lemonade yellow
- The Time is Pow!: And the color is this fiery orange.
- Pink Outside the Box: Wearing this hot pink is your best idea yet!
- Blue it Out of Proportion: No I’m NOT overreacting…I can’t live without this cobalt blue!!
The first thing we did was apply the Neon White Base Coat. It sets the stage to make the neon colours really pop. After letting the base coat dry, we picked our colours. I select the neon pink, Bridget picked the neon yellow and Olivia decided on the neon blue. We each applied two coats of our colour and finished off with a coat of the OPI top coat for shine and protection.
Here’s my daughter, Bridget’s nails with the Neon Yellow coat.
I’m definitely out of practice when it comes to painting my own nails, but I have to say I really like how they turned out. My left hand was MUCH neater than my right hand since I’m right-handed. I need more practice for sure! I found the polish dried quickly and went on smooth. It didn’t start to chip until about a week and I’ll have to try another colour though I really loved the neon pink!
This week I had quite a few compliments about my nail colour. Cashiers at the grocery store and even our electrician remarked at how bright my nails were. They were bright, but I loved it! My girls also had fun painting their nails. Olivia is so much better at doing her nails than me. I could take some lessons from her.
Limited edition Neon Revolution mini sets will be available beginning July 2013 at professional salons and spas across Canada at a SRP of $24.95 CAN.
I also had a chance to try sample sizes of OPI’s new Avojuice Skin Quenchers Hand & Body Lotions in floral scents Peony & Poppy and Violet Orchid. They soothe and nourish skin and contain aloe extracts and avocado. I tried both scents and liked them both. However, my favourite was the Violet Orchid. It has a sweet smell that John says smells like Kool-Aid. I’d have to agree. It’s very pretty though! OPI Avojuice Skin Quenchers Hand & Body Lotion in Peony & Poppy and Violet Orchid will be available beginning July 2013 at professional salons and spas across Canada at an SRP of $9.95 CAN for each 6.6 fl. oz bottle.
