A Monster In Paris DVD Launch Party
Bonjour les amis! I was so excited to view the new DVD release, A Monster In Paris with my children on our Family Movie Night. This fun, children’s adventure movie has just been released from Shout! Factory with EuropaCorp and is directed by Bibo Bergeron who directed another one of our family favorites, Shark Tale.
Set in the early 1900’s in Paris, the city inhabitants are in a panic as a “monster” named Franc is on the loose as the Seine River has flooded its banks and water continues to rise. In a creative plot featuring not only adventure but also friendship and loyalty, a shy young man named Emile, a wacky inventor named Raoul and his zany companion, a monkey search to find and protect the creature. They are aided by a beautiful, strong-willed singer Lucille (Vanessa Paradis) who helps them keep the monster away from the villain, Commissioner Maynott who wants to capture Franc. My family was glued to our seats as we watched the adventure unfold to lots of laughing out loud and heart-warming fun.
To properly celebrate this delightful animated film, my daughter Hannah enjoyed dressing up in the character, Lucille’s white fairy wings as she danced and sang to the songs throughout the movie. My boys love puzzles and had fun completing the activity sheets including mazes and coloring pages. We even enjoyed brunch for dinner with a delicious recipe of strawberry crepes which were surprisingly easy to make and delicious though mine were not quite picture perfect (I will have to make this more often to “perfect” it).
My daughter is having her first sleepover soon with her best friend and the girls have requested to watch this movie together……..Hannah just loves it! This is a smart, witty movie that is not just fun for the kids but perfect for grown-ups to enjoy too. Sit back and let yourself be transported to the beauty and history of the “City of Love”…………. A Monster In Paris!
