Print My Watercolor Review
Wedding season is just around the corner. Most weddings I’ve been to involve lots of pictures. I know after my own wedding I was inundated with pictures from my professional photographer as well as from all the guests! I have to say that some the pictures my photographer took were so fantastic that my husband and I had such a hard time picking out which ones to print for our album and which ones to frame. So when the opportunity to review Print My Watercolor came about I was challenged once again to pick the perfect wedding photo to turn into a work of art.
Based in San Francisco, CA, Print My Watercolor specializes in the unique art of high quality watercolor printing. Their small team of experienced digital artists create watercolor prints using high quality materials, professional photo retouching techniques and the newest generation printers. They only use archival grade material, oil based ink and real archival and textured watercolor paper. After the prints are created they attach a wooden bars with a leather strap, ready for hanging in your home.
After dusting off the CD of images we have from our wedding, I went through dozens of images before hitting the one I thought would look great as a larger artistic piece. The ordering process was a simple one – I chose the size of the piece I wanted, uploaded my photo to the Print My Watercolor site, chose my effect style and checked out. I chose a 20×30 piece with a brushstroke effect. They also offer a Black & White and Sepia effect. I chose the dark color for my hanging bars (since I thought they would look nice with the colors in my photo). The piece arrived as they promised – ready for hanging straight put of the box! What I love about the piece is that the brushstroke effect is beautifully done – subtle enough in sections to keep the details of the photo crisp and clear, and less subtle in other sections that really make it look more like a painting than a photo. You can tell that care was taken to make this piece a lovely work of art. I think it looks fantastic on my wall at home and would love to create more pieces in other sizes using this process. The piece I created sells for $184 ($175 for the sizing, $9 for the brushstroke effect).
