My children are huge fans of the JumpStart world. In fact, they love it so much that they are willing to “earn” time playing their favorite game by helping around the house, completing school work, tidying up their rooms etc. I appreciate that while JumpStart is an online game, it is also an educational tool that is lots of fun for the kids to play and explore too…..in other words they don’t even realize that they are learning!
My children ages 7, 6 and 5 have been playing JumpStart for several years and there has recently been lots of exciting updates to the game. JumpStart has proudly partnered with DreamWorks Animation and added lots of new, exciting games to the JumpStart world. My children leaped up and down with excitement when they discovered that many of their favorite film characters from Madagascar have joined the JumpStart world. They absolutely love exploring the new areas and head out on mission assignments in JumpStart New York which has lots of interactive and educational games with a New York City themed adventure. The original Central Park Zoo and underground Penguin Headquarters have been expanded to include a ton of new areas such as Central Park, Coney Island and even Times Square. They love to “team up” with the Madagascar Penguins in top-rated games and a few of their favorite games and areas to explore include Air Penguin Glider, driving bumper cars at Coney Island and even get to watch age appropriate movies at the JumpStart Movie Theatre.
My five year old son eagerly looks forward to playing JumpStart.com and one day commented with excitement, “This is the most fun game in the whole, entire universe Mommy!” He loves to earn coins by playing games (who knew slicing sushi could be so much fun) and uses those coins to “buy” things to accessorize their JumpStart world. His favorite part was proudly introducing me to his own mythical creature, the Mythie which he hatched from an egg and raises by feeding it, giving it new colors, putting it to sleep, releasing it etc.
In addition to JumpStart New York there are lots of other great areas including StoryLand for children ages 3-5, AdventureLand and MarineLand (our family favorite) for kids from kindergarten to 2nd grade and FutureLand and Uncle Milton’s ScienceLand for older kids.
In addition to online game play, JumpStart also has the option of a mobile app so kids can take the learning fun with them when on the go. With lots of great JumpStart Mobile Games titles such as Madagascar Preschool Surf ‘n’ Slide, JumpStart Preschool Magic of Learning, Madagascar: My ABC’s and JumpStart Art Studio plus many more there is sure to be something fun and educational for your child to play. You can check out all of these titles and purchase your child’s favorites at the JumpStart website.
My children play various educational games as part of our homeschool curriculum and just for fun. JumpStart is by far their favorite game and one that they request to play every day. I appreciate that they are learning while having fun and it is a safe, online world just for children. I can even download FREE printable worksheets for grades Pre-K through 5th to supplement their studies.
