I’m always interested in learning about and trying new products that are safe and healthy for my kids – from new foods, to new cleaners, clothes, and car seats. Of course, I always do my research first. With my both of my boys having sensitive skin and my little guy having a sensitive tummy, I always make sure that the products I’m using are going to work for their conditions, which is why I was happy to give Dapple products a try.
Dapple was started by Tamar Rosenthal and Dana Rubinstein, two moms that wanted to create products that were natural and safe for babies, but also specifically targeted to clean the unique messes they leave behind. They teamed up with several experienced pediatricians and a team of seasoned green chemists to create the Dapple line of cleaners tailor-made for households with young children. All Dapple products use natural-based ingredients that are environmentally-safe, biodegradable, and free of parabens, SLES, and phthalates, as well as synthetic dyes or fragrances – all traits that I look for in products I am going to use on and around my children.
I received a Dapple On-The-Go Essentials Kit for review. The kit includes travel sized versions of baby bottle and dish liquid, toy and surface wipes, pacifier wipes and baby laundry detergent. All of these products are a great size to throw in a diaper bag or a small travel bag for vacation.
When we travel with the boys we always take their sippy cups, so having a travel sized dish liquid is perfect for when we’re at hotels and need to rinse off the day’s germs, and being made with safe and natural ingredients I know the soap won’t irritate my sons’ skin. The bottle is sleek and small and made for travel, so I’m not worried about leaks. The hypoallergenic detergent is great for a quick sink wash if you want to get out a stubborn stain before you can get home to your washer. The single use packets are the ideal size for hand washing in sinks or tubs while on the road. And while I don’t get too crazy about sharing toys or being exposed to some germs (after all, some germs are good), there are times when I want nothing more than to wipe off a toy or surface before my boys play and touch them – especially if I notice a sick child sneeze or cough on the item! That’s when the toy and surface wipes come in handy. I like that the wipes are not greasy, don’t smell, and leave no residue behind. Since my boys are past the pacifier stage, I passed on the pacifier wipes to my brother and sister-in-law who have a new baby boy. These packs are small enough to keep in any size bag and are great for when you’re down to your last clean paci and it falls on the floor! I remember those days too well!
The Essentials Kit sells for $9.99 on the Dapple site. You can see the full line of Dapple products on their website.
