There are a lot of charities that I hold close to my heart. Charities that I feel make a difference and mean something to me and my family life. Even though at times we have struggled in this economy, I always try to give even just a few dollars to each of my favorite causes, because I know they’re struggling too. Though my children are young, I have talked to my oldest about what it means to share with others who are not as fortunate as we are. It can be hard to get a child to understand exactly what it means to be charitable, but now there’s a great way to help educate children about philanthropy thanks to MVP Group International Inc., and the wonderful Monkeez brand.
MVP Group International Inc. has teamed up with Monkeez to help introduce children to what it means to give back through their new program Monkeez Makes a Difference, developed by mother, teacher and children’s author Chrysti Carol Propes. This program uses kid-friendly tools to deliver the message of giving back – including Genuine Monkeez and Friends plush characters, online games, real-life “Do Good Challenges” and a special donation made on the child’s behalf that he or she can choose on their own. With plush characters ranging from $2.99 – $100, Monkeez Makes a Difference donates 10% of the wholesale cost of each plush to charities such as Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, Samaritan’s Purse and the Best Friend’s Animal Society. Each plush comes with a tag with instructions for parents and children to visit the Monkeez website where they can choose the charity they want to receive the 10% donation. It’s a great way to get children involved in a grown-up decision and help teach them about the different charities and what it means to give back. After selecting a charity to donate to, children can unlock an online world of interactive and educational games that aim to teach about what they can do to help others.
I received a “Digby” dog and a “Gabby” red monkey for review. My youngest loves puppy dogs and was instantly in love with Digby. My oldest thinks monkeys are hysterical animals and thinks Gabby is a great little pal to play with. Besides being cute, both of these animals are high-quality sturdy pieces that I’m sure can withstand long days with my two boys! Digby sells for $33.99, Gabby for $17.99 at the Monkeez Online Store – with 10% of their wholesale cost going to charity, it’s a great way to satisfy a gift-giving need with a way to give back. These plush animals would make a great holiday gift with a great message.
