Wonder Box Review
I home school my three young children and love to include enrichment activities in to our curriculum. The Wonder Box is perfect not just for homeschool families but for all children aged three to six who love to express their creativity.
What is the Wonder Box? It is a fabulous subscription service that delivers a themed box full of engaging, fun activities to your doorstep. Imagine how exciting it would be for your child to open up a brand new box each month full of fun crafts and activity projects! With themes like “Mad Scientist”, “Nature” and “Once Upon a Time” there is fun for everyone.
Our Wonder Box, “Once Upon a Time” arrived and my kids were thrilled to get started. I was able to incorporate it into our homeschool curriculum as it included the classic story, “Stone Soup”. Featured along with this story is a recipe to make a delicious “Stone Soup” and the kids were able to help me gather the ingredients at the Farmer’s Market and peel the vegetables. No complaints about eating their veggies that night!
Another project that was a big hit in our Wonder Box was the “Puppet Play” which included everything needed in a pouch to create a puppet to be used in story-telling. This is a great way to promote fine motor skills and of course, creativity. I was impressed with the amount of time my children took in order to make their felt puppet “perfect”.
The Story Cape was very creative and included fabric crayons so my youngest son could make his own personalized cape.
My personal favorite activity included in the Wonder Box is the Story Cards. I will admit that at first I wasn’t sure if all of my children would be able to do this activity but they absolutely loved it. Sitting around a table each child selected a picture card from the tin and started the story with “Once Upon A Time”……..and then added a piece to the story based on the card selected. There were roars of laughter as their imaginations soared while telling their stories. Before, I knew it they were using the cards and role playing using the puppet and the cape that they had made. It was amazing and for over an hour, I was amused by their story-telling!
Each Wonder Box is a treasure trove of high quality activities and at least 3 hands-on projects…..no batteries needed, just their imaginations! In addition, you will have access to exclusive activity ideas at the Wonder Box web page to go along with the boxes’ theme.
There are several different subscription options available starting at a modest $19.99 per month. If you are looking for a great gift idea then this is it. You are invited to visit the Wonder Box website to learn more about the subscription options and take a peek inside the boxes.
