Maplelea Girls Canadian Dolls Review
When I asked Bridget what she wanted for Christmas this year, she immediately said new clothes and a bed for Jenna. Jenna is her Maplelea Girls doll that she received earlier this year. You can check out what she looks like and a video of Bridget talking about her doll in my Maplelea Girls review.
Bridget adores her. She loves doing Jenna’s hair and tucks her in to bed at night. Bridget decided that Jenna needed a dress. We looked online at all the accessories made specifically for Jenna and Bridget’s favourite (actually mine too) was the Anne of Green Gables costume. Although Bridget is too young to have read the Anne of Green Gables novels, I have read them and I gave her some background about the story. Anne was a feisty young girl with red hair just like Jenna who lived with an older couple in Prince Edward Island. Her story is a Canadian classic that is loved around the world. Bridget thought that Jenna’s outfit made her look like she was from the “Old West”.
The Anne of Green Gables costume includes a pinafore, dress, carpet bag, hat, tights, boots, hair ribbons, a blank journal page, collectible journal page, and a Maplelea hanger. It retails for $50 CAD on the Maplelea Girls website. Let me tell you, the outfit is exquisite! I especially love the boots with their little snaps to easily put them on and off.
Besides being uniquely Canadian, one of the things I love most about Maplelea Girls is that you can count on QUALITY. The Maplelea Guarantee ensures that.
For those of you new to Maplelea Girls, let me give you a brief rundown. There are six doll characters who hail from the various provinces across Canada and they are designed specifically for Canadian girls. Bridget’s doll, Jenna, is from Nova Scotia, but they have dolls that live in Ontario, Manitoba, Quebec, Alberta and Nunavut. All come with their own distinct look and background your child can learn about in the journal that comes with each doll.
The Maplelea Friends dolls are a recent addition to the collection. They come in all different hair colours, styles, length, eye colour, skin colour, etc . These dolls can be from anywhere your child chooses and they can fill in their journal with the help of the prompts and create their doll’s own unique background and characteristics. They are $99.99 CAD. So now there are 12 Maplelea Girls to choose from with the six Original dolls and the six Friends dolls!
Maplelea Girls can only be purchased exclusively online and aren’t found in retail stores. Shipping is a flat $9 to anywhere in Canada. You can place an order by visiting Maplelea Girls online or by phoning 1-800-668-4339 24 hours/7 days a week.
I am DEFINITELY going to be shopping for more Maplelea Girls accessories and possibly another doll for Christmas. I can’t wait to see Bridget’s reaction when she opens up her new doll bed for Jenna. She’s been asking for one for months!
