Book Review | Sugar Fork
Title: Sugar Fork: A Novel
Author: Walt Larimore
Best-selling author, Walt Larimore has released his latest title, Sugar Fork. This novel transports the reader to the Great Smoky Mountains in 1925-1926.
Our family loves to visit the Great Smoky Mountains in Tennessee on our annual vacations so I was excited to read this story about the a wilderness way of life that was threatened forever with the rise of the industrial age. It did not disappoint because it held my attention from the very first page and I simply didn’t want it to end.
What really made this novel such an enjoyable read for me is the wonderful, rich characters including Abbie Randolph who is the heroine locked in a struggle to survive and only a miracle can save the family’s farm from a lumber company who wants to destroy the land. Featuring “gypsy siblings, Cherokee Native Americans, a granny mid-wife, a world famous writer and a flesh-and-blood Haint”, Sugar Fork is a compelling and inspirational work of Christian historical fiction.
Sugar Fork is available at online retailers like Amazon.com and you can purchase it here (SRP $14.99). You are also invited to visit SimonandSchuster.com to take a sneak peek inside Sugar Fork which is a captivating, engaging novel that is perfect to read on a crisp, fall evening.
