Week 50 on Nutrisystem #NSNation
It has now been over a year since I first began my weight loss journey with Nutrisystem (yes, I am ridiculously behind in my posting, and apologize to you all for so long in between posts). Without having been a part of the Nutrisystem Nation family, I would probably still be 150-153 lbs., and maybe even more by now.
Losing weight is not something that you do just one time, and then it stays off. You have to work at it to keep it off by making smart food choices when grocery shopping and dining out. You have to become more active, get off the couch and away from the TV remote control. Sometimes you have to skip out on a really rich dessert and replace it with something healthier, like strawberries or raspberries, if you’re craving something sweet.
Before I started on Nutrisystem, I drank a lot of soda. So did my husband. He managed to kick the habit 100%, and drinking soda is something I still do on occasion–as a treat. I’d love to eventually get to the point where I no longer want it, but I am still a work in progress.
Before I started on Nutrisystem, I ordered whatever I wanted at a restaurant and didn’t think of calorie or fat intake. Now, I look at all of the options, considering if the hundreds of calories are really worth it. Sometimes I order the fatty or fried foods, but most of the time I choose something that works within the Nutrisystem meal plan, such as a house salad or a side of fruit.
Before I started on Nutrisystem, I had low self-esteem and didn’t take very much pride in my appearance. Because of my weight loss, I have shopped for more flattering clothes, and feel comfortable wearing shorts, skirts, and dresses.
Without Nutrisystem, I could not have achieved better eating practices or gained higher self-esteem. By working within the meal plan, I slowly lost some of the weight that felt as if it took no time at all to pack on. Yes, weight loss doesn’t happen overnight (unlike weight gain, but that’s another story altogether). I learned that I don’t have to give up junk food entirely–I just need to have it in moderation and portion things out. I’ve learned how to eat on a schedule and that breakfast really is the most important meal of the day.
I started out on Nutrisystem not knowing just how much it would change me–and how much I would like the change it brought out in me. If you’ve ever doubted that you really could do it, Nutrisystem will give you the confidence in yourself to never give up. If you’ve been wanting to lose weight but just “haven’t gotten around to it”, stop making excuses for yourself and try. Start out with signing up for one month. I know you’ll see a huge change in those first weeks. You’ll love the results!
