With the holidays just around the corner, I love to discover new products and recipes for entertaining. Old London has a wide selection of delicious all natural Melba Toast, Melba Snacks and Bagel Chips.
Melba Toast is a classic Old London product that I recently rediscovered and was surprised at the bold, tasty flavor options including Rosemary and Olive Oil, Whole Grain, Salt-Free (great for those on salt restricted diets), Sesame and Sourdough. The Rosemary and Olive Oil is bursting with natural Rosemary herb flavor and the sweetness of Olive Oil. It is absolutely delicious and my family and I enjoy eating these with a salad instead of croutons and as a snack with cheese, olives and hummus.
The Bagel Chips are the perfect crunchy snack and since I rarely include bagels in my daily diet it is nice to have a snack that satisfies that craving. My favorite is the Garlic and Herb which is zesty, robust and full of flavor.
In the afternoon, when my children are begging for a light snack before dinner they enjoy eating Sea Salt Melba Snacks with a wedge of cheese and a piece of fruit. My husband and I really like the bold flavors of the Spicy 3 Pepper Melba Snacks that are so delicious that I have to be sure to limit my serving size….it is that good!

Here is a tasty recipe you can make at home by Christopher Kostow courtesy of Old London:
Crispy Shrimp Fritters by Christopher Kostow
Total Time: 50 minutes
- 20 Old London Sea Salt Melba Snacks, ground fine in food processor
- 1 lb. Shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 Eggs, whites and yolks separated
- 1 tbsp. Heavy cream
- 2 ribs Green celery, diced small
- 1 bunch Chives, minced
- 1 cup Flour
- 2 cups Olive oil
- 1 pinch Cayenne pepper
- Salt, to taste
In a food processor, pulse the shrimp, egg whites, and cream until combined but still chunky. Add the chives, celery, and cayenne pepper. Form the shrimp paste into small balls. Dredge the balls in flour, then into the beaten yolks, and then into the ground Melba Snacks.
Heat the olive oil in a heavy skillet. When hot, add the shrimp balls and cook until well browned. Remove from the pan and transfer to a paper towel. Season with salt. Serve immediately.
