Dollop Review
I love to bake – and my favorite thing to bake is cupcakes. I love to try new batters, new frostings and new toppings. When I’m at the supermarket, I like to take my time in the baking aisle! I’m always interested in trying something new when it comes to baking, so I was very happy to have the chance to review a frosting spread from the frosting gurus at Dollop Gourmet – winners of one of my favorite shows on TV, Food Network’s Cupcake Wars!
I received a one-pound package of Dollop Gourmet’s award winning Ultimate Dude Peanut Butter Chocolate Cookie Dough frosting spread, along with what they call a “pocket pouch” of the frosting. First off, I have to say, the packaging is a genius idea – a squeezable pouch is perfect for getting just the right amount of frosting you need for whatever baking project or snack idea you come up with. The frosting tastes as good as it sounds – so good in fact that you’re going to want to spread it on fruits, breads, cakes, cookies, etc. It’s truly more than just a cupcake frosting. The small packets are perfect for using with quick snacks (such as apple slices or pretzels). The frosting is made with real butter, real sugar, and real chocolate, and is preservative-free. The one-pound package retails for $12.99 on the Dollop Gourmet online shop.
Dollop Gourmet is the brainchild of Heather Saffer and is the only gourmet cupcake bar in Rochester, NY. Considering themselves “frosting aficionados”, the Dollop team focus on the fun of toppings, atop a variety of delectable cupcakes. Only available right now online and at their Rochester retail shop, their one-pound frosting pouches will soon be on retail shelves across the country.
Disclosure: I was not financially compensated for this post. I received a sample of the product for review purposes. The opinions are my own, based on my personal experience with the product.

I learned that the frosting is homemade and made without preservatives.
They dont use preservatives, thats important to me!
I like that the frosting comes in pouches instead of a “can”. It’s so much easier to frost a cupcake when the frosting is in a bag or pouch and you don’t end up tearing the top off the cupcake with a knife that way.
