Last year I purchased Season One of Body of Proof because it looked like it was something I would like. Maybe it’s me trying to play detective but I find crime shows fascinating. Body of Proof shows the crime mostly from the point of view of the Medical Examiner who in this show seems to solve many of the crimes herself.
Dana Delany plays Dr. Megan Hunt who some feel is a bit abrasive. I actually like her. She’s direct and to the point and she tells it like it is. She also has a softer side when it comes to her daughter, Lacey and she truly cares about each and every body that comes on her table. She makes it her mission to find out the who, what, when and why.
In each episode, Dr. Hunt and her team examine a different body and have to solve the case. Of course, the cases are interesting and make for good TV. For example, there was the show where a bride tumbled off a highrise balcony on her wedding day into a crowd of guests. Dr. Hunt and team solved the case thanks to some trace evidence left under her fingernails. I learned that it’s never the first person who they think it is and I’m always trying to guess who the killer is.
In Season Two, we see Dr. Hunt develop a stronger relationship with her daughter, Lacey. Dr. Hunt is divorced and Lacey lives full-time with her dad, but she is starting to spend more time with her mother. I have a daughter the same age as Lacey so I can relate to some of her teenage troubles.
The comic relief is definitely Dr. Curtis Brumfield. Dr. Hunt introduces him as her boss. I loved the episode where he went on a diet and was so hungry. He is hilarious and cracks me up!
I can’t wait to watch Season Three to be reunited with my favourite medical examiner!
