Guidecraft Magneatos Review

My seven year old son loves to build so I was confident that he would enjoy playing with Magneatos from Guidecraft. What I didn’t expect is that all three of my children would love it so much that they play with Magneatos for hours at a time and it is their favorite play set!

The Oppenheim Toy award-winning Magneatos magnetic construction sets are an innovative building toy that promotes a child’s creativity and imagination. My children construct with a series of magnetic Jumbo balls and rods with panels, clips and bendies to create infinite possibilities. Before I knew it, my husband joined the kids on the floor to help them build their “house” and they were delighted to have the opportunity to play with their dad.

Magneatos building sets are appealing to children (and adults as evidenced by my husband) of all ages. It is very easy to connect the pieces together by simply snapping it into the desired shape(s). I love watching the children use their imaginations to invent new creations and in the process they are developing important skills such as cooperative (or independent) play as well as spatial awareness, engineering and problem-solving. For example, my four year old son was attempting to figure out why his desired shape wasn’t initially working and after working at it for a while he was finally able to get it into place. His confidence soared as he shouted out with pride and excitement. The brightly colored pieces are engaging and it really holds their attention for long periods of time. I appreciate that all Guidecraft products are designed to be of the highest quality and Magneatos are no exception… fact this toy construction set has actually exceeded my expectations in terms of durability and interest from all of my children (ages 4, 5 and 7).

If you are searching for a gift idea that is sure to please a very special child, then I highly recommend Magneatos from Guidecraft. You can choose from several Magneatos sets in a variety of price points for virtually every budget ranging from $40 for the 24 piece Jumbo Curves set to $240 for the 144 piece Jumbo Set.

As a proud member of the Guidecraft Educator’s Blog Team and a parent, I can personally attest to the fact that Magneatos is one of the most innovative and creative educational (don’t forget “fun”) toys that my children and I have ever tested!
