This easy cauliflower pizza crust recipe uses only a handful of simple, whole ingredients. Here’s a bit more information about what I used.

    • Cauliflower – This is the base of the entire recipe.
    • Shredded cheese—Use your favorite kind. Mozzarella cheese is a popular choice, but I used marble cheese.
    • Egg – This is the emulsifier that holds everything together.
    • Italian seasoning – This adds flavor to the pizza crust.
    • Garlic – Using a fresh garlic clove is best, but garlic powder can also work in a pinch.
    • Garlic salt – If you use garlic powder, you’ll need to add additional salt. But if you use garlic salt, don’t add more salt.
    • Olive oil – This keeps the crust from being too dry.

How to Make Cauliflower Pizza Crust

    • Step One: Clean your cauliflower and grate it with a cheese grater. Once grated, microwave the cauliflower for about 8 minutes until super soft.
    • Step Two: Preheat your oven and prep your baking sheet while it microwaves.

    • Step Three: Mix the grated cauliflower with your egg, cheese, and seasonings. Transfer your “dough” to the baking sheet and press into a 9-inch crust.
    • Step Four: Next, brush olive oil over the raw crust and bake until the egg has set and the crust is solid. You want the crust fully cooked at this point.
    • Step Five: Now, add your favorite sauce, cheese, and toppings, and broil until the cheese is melted.

    Equipment Needed

If you want the best results when making a low-carb pizza crust, I suggest grabbing a few key pieces of equipment.

    • Pizza pan: I use this round baking sheet for so many things! It’s the perfect size for pizzas and a great non-stick baking sheet.
    • Garlic press: Why mince garlic by hand when you can use this ergonomic garlic press? Save your time and your fingertips with this handy kitchen tool.
    • Cheese grater: I love that this box cheese grater has different size options on every side. Plus, the rubber base keeps it in place and my countertops unscratched!

What to Serve with Cauliflower Pizza Crust

Eat your cauliflower pizza with other tasty low-carb sides and snacks. Here are some of my favorites:

    Variations and Substitutions

    • Use tomato sauce instead of pizza sauce.
    • Make smaller crusts. This is a fantastic way to make lunch just for yourself without leftovers.
    • Make the crust spicier. Add some red pepper flakes to the crust before you bake it.
    • Bake the crust in the air fryer. It will bake at the same temperature for about the same time.

    Storage Instructions

Store leftover cauliflower pizza crust, covered in an airtight container, for up to 3 days.

Cauliflower Pizza Crust Tips and Tricks

    • Remove as much moisture as possible from the riced cauliflower. To do this, place the cauliflower in a cheesecloth and wring the water out over your sink.
    • Use parchment paper if you don’t want to grease a baking sheet. This crust tends to stick.
    • If you don’t have a pastry brush, add olive oil to a spray bottle and spray the crust. The entire crust should be covered with olive oil to prevent it from drying out.

    Can I Use Frozen Cauliflower?

Yes, you can use frozen cauliflower. If you want frozen cauliflower or cauliflower rice, be sure to thaw it completely and drain any excess water before assembling your crust dough. If your cauliflower is too soft to be grated, you can always dice it by hand or use a food processor.

    Can You Taste The Cauliflower?

No, you can’t taste the cauliflower in this recipe. But if you think you can still taste the raw cauliflower, add more herbs and spices.

    How To Make Crispy

If you want a crispier crust, roll it out thin and remove as much liquid from the cauliflower as possible.

    Toppings

Use your favorite toppings like you would on a regular pizza crust.

Since the pizza only cooks for a few minutes with the toppings, make sure they’re all pre-cooked! You can always brown sausage or caramelize onions while the cauliflower crust bakes.

How Many Carbs in Cauliflower Pizza Crust

The carb counts will always vary per recipe and depending on what you put in it. When divided into six equal slices, this cauliflower crust pizza recipe is about 6g net carbs without any toppings.

If you’re on a keto diet, measure your serving sizes and pay attention to the nutritional labels. Most keto diet guidelines recommend keeping your net carbs between 15g and 30g per day.

How To Reheat Frozen Cauliflower Pizza Crust

Like a frozen pizza, you can bake it without thawing and top the frozen crust with your favorite sauce, toppings, and cheeses. When the crust is frozen, I recommend cooking it at 425 degrees F for about 10 minutes or until it is completely reheated and the cheese is melted.

    FAQ

How do you freeze a cauliflower pizza crust?

If you want to store them longer, these cooked cauliflower pizza crusts will last up to 3 months in the freezer. Here’s how to freeze the cauliflower crust so it stays fresh. Wrap the crust in parchment paper and place it in a freezer-safe food storage bag. Then, place the bag in the freezer.

Do I need to use a food processor?

No, you don’t have to use a food processor. You can make cauliflower rice by shredding a head of cauliflower with a cheese grater. Or, you can use pre-riced cauliflower and save yourself a lot of time.

Why do I have a soggy crust?

Your crust is probably soggy because you left too much water in the riced cauliflower. If you don’t have cheesecloth, paper towels can work, too. Squeeze the towel until it stops dripping water. You’ll likely get a crispy cauliflower pizza crust when you remove the moisture.

How many servings does this make?

This recipe makes about six servings.

    5. So funny, until recently I thought I hated everything about cauliflower, until I started trying unique ways (other than steamed) to prepare it. I started making cauliflower mashed potatoes and found they are yummy! Even my kids love ’em! Your recipe looks awesome and I am sure going to give it a try…of course I am not going to tell my 5 kids where the crust came from:)

    6. I tried a cauliflower crust once and it was…not so great. Yours turned out so well! Will have to try it. My husband likes to eat low carb, but with a 13 year old in the house we can’t shun pizza!
