Book Review | Dreamless by Josephine Angelini

Title: Dreamless (Starcrossed)

Author: Josephine Angelini

My Review:

My friends and I always like to discuss what we are reading over the summer and my favorite books this year have been the Starcrossed book series by Josephine Angelini. If you missed my review recently for Starcrossed which is book #1 in the series, check it out.

I was eagerly awaiting the release of Dreamless which is book #2 in the Starcrossed series. It did not disappoint as it picks up the saga of young Helen Hamilton who is in battle to end the ancient curse upon her family and unfortunately she much do it without Lucas by her side. Dreamless introduces a new character, Orion who protects Helen while she is descended into the Underworld. I really enjoyed the mysterious and funny Orion who is the perfect rescuer but will they be able to escape from the clutches of a relentless and ruthless enemy who is determined to destroy her?

This young adult novel (perfect for adults too) includes a “spell-binding” love story, Greek mythology and an action-adventure that kept me awake late into the night because I couldn’t stop reading.

In my opinion this book series has taken hold of me even more than The Hunger Games and the Twilight series. It is the perfect summer read and now I am in a holding position……eagerly awaiting the third book in this series!
