How to Preview Unpublished Posts with Share A Draft Plugin

A few months back I had a sponsor request to see a post prior to it going live on my blog. I thought that’s easy and sent them screenshots of my post in preview mode. However, that wasn’t what they wanted. They wanted to see it live on my site without it being published. I thought that’s just not possible! I asked in my Facebook groups and everyone agreed with me.

Well, I was wrong! The advertiser told me there’s a plugin that would allow a unpublished post to be viewed like it was a live post. Of course, I should have realized that there was a plugin for that. Isn’t there a plugin for just about everything?

Share a Draft plugin will allow other people (ie. your advertisers, friends, etc) to preview a post and see how it will look on your blog.  Once installed, you simply click on Share a Draft in your Dashboard and select which draft you wish to share from the dropdown list. Then decide on how long you want to allow access to view the draft. You can do it as short as a few minutes (or even seconds!) or certain number of days. It also gives you the option to share a Scheduled Post.

It will give you a link that will take you directly to your unpublished post. It’s very simple to use and you can cancel the link when it’s no longer needed or just let the time run out. You can also extend the time if more is required.

This plugin has been a huge help to me and saved me loads of time that I would have spent taking a million screenshots!
