Ball Park Review
Summer to me means grilling, eating outside and having fun up until the last minute of daylight. There are many foods that I like grilled, but none more than the classic hot dog. Truth be told, I like them boiled, microwaved and stove-top grilled too! I’m picky about my brands when it comes to hot dogs and have to say that you can’t beat the quality and taste of Ball Park.
The Ball Park Brand has been around since 1957. Known for their classic frankfurter, Ball Park has expanded their offerings over the years to include flame grilled beef patties, angus brats and angus beef hot links. Staying true to their commitment to quality, Ball Park is made with only the finest ingredients (no “pink slime” that we’ve all seen on the news lately!) and has no artificial flavors or colors. I personally like the light and fat free beef and turkey franks they carry – all the flavor, with less diet guilt! I was lucky to have the opportunity to try the Fat Free Beef Franks (which are new to me) and the Original Angus Beef Franks (an old favorite). The Fat Free version surprised me, I really couldn’t tell that I was eating a fat-free hot dog, and at just 55 calories it was quite a treat. Just 35 seconds in the microwave was all it took to make myself a quick tasty lunch. I’m a convert! Ball Parks are easy to make, whether on the grill or in the microwave, and easy to store, all you need to preserve the freshness is use or freeze by the best by date.
For some added summer fun, Ball Park is currently running a contest on Facebook with the grand prize of a year’s worth of groceries! Nine runners-up will win a new grill, new grilling accessories and coupons for Ball Park products. All you need to do to enter is visit their Facebook contest page and upload a photo or video of the funny, quirky, sometimes nonsensical things the guys in your life do. Entries will be accepted until June 25th at 1pm Eastern Time and you can enter every day to improve your chances of winning! 10 finalists will be chosen and announced on July 2, 2012, at which point voting on the best entry will be opened up to the Ball Park Facebook community.
