LEGO Themed Party Favors Review

Are you planning a birthday party for a special child? If so, LEGO has a wide selection of building sets that would be perfect for fun party activities and to for the kids to take home as memorable party favors.

If my seven year old son had to choose only one favorite toy, without a doubt it would be LEGO. He has been playing with LEGO’s since he was three years old and has even declared that he wants to be a “builder” when he grows up. Following in his footsteps are his five year old sister and four year old brother.

LEGO offers smaller-sized, affordable building sets that would be a great theme for your next party. From the LEGO Racers collection, Adam loved building his Monster Truck Racer ($9.99) which came with over 80 pieces. After putting it together, he played for over an hour crashing and ejecting the LEGO mini-figure driver from the vehicle to safety. What I appreciate most about LEGO is that the sets like this one are challenging without being frustrating and I love to watch my children use their imagination and building skills.

I was particularly excited for my five year old daughter to build and play with the new LEGO Friends line. Her eyes grew wide and she was thrilled to play with “Stephanie’s Outdoor Bakery”. This hot toy set retails for only $5.99 and includes a Stephanie mini-doll figure and lots of fun, buildable accessories for the bakery. I realize that there was a lot of controversy when LEGO launched this collection designed specifically for girls. I actually think it is a wonderful idea because my daughter loves the fun colors and creative sets just as much as she likes playing with a box of LEGO bricks. The LEGO Friends line has given her additional options to use her imagination and pretend play which I fully support. I will even admit that I had a lot of fun playing “bakery” with her.

My four year old had a great time putting together the LEGO Bricks & More Safari Building Set ($9.99). I like that the instructions were easy for him to follow and he was so proud to build a giraffe, jeep-like vehicle with mini-figures, an elephant, parrot and accessories. Once this set was built, the kids played together for a long time as they went on safari…..lots of fun!

LEGO has lots of affordable, high quality gift ideas that are sure to be a hit with children of all ages. If you are planning an upcoming party then I highly recommend visiting LEGO for ideas and inspiration.
