Lay’s Potato Chips Are Now Certified Gluten-Free!
Big news for people following a gluten-free diet! Lay’s Potato Chips are now certified gluten-free! I was surprised to learn that they have always been gluten-free, but now it’s official with certification by the Canadian Celiac Association. A few years ago, on the advice from my doctor, I followed a gluten-free diet to see if it would help my condition. It wasn’t easy because most of the foods I was used to eating were no longer an option. I had no clue that I could have enjoyed Lay’s potato chips while still on my diet!
If you look at the back of a bag of Lay’s chips, you will see the words Gluten Free. This basically means that the production of the chips meets the requirements of the Canadian Celiac Association’s Gluten-Free Certification Program. In fact, Lay’s Chips has the honour of being the very first product to be certified by this program!
What I want to stress here is that there is NO difference in taste! These are the same chips that I’ve enjoyed for years and years and the only thing that has changed is they are now certified gluten-free. Now people following the diet will have more snack options to choose from.
You can find Lay’s potato chips at all major retailers across Canada in the same great flavours as before. My personal favourites are ketchup and salt & vinegar! I checked the website and the only flavour not gluten-free is BBQ.
