CAT Preschool Toys by Toy State Review

My seven and four year old sons love to play and build with their CAT® toys and play sets giving them hours of fun and imaginative play. CAT® Toys has a wonderful selection of realistic toys that are comparable to the actual Caterpillar construction vehicles. In fact, we were on a road trip recently and went by a CAT® distributor and my children screamed with excitement when they saw a front loader that looked exactly like their favorite toy.

Donning their stylish CAT® Construction Hats, my boys were ready to begin playing with the newly released CAT® toys by Toy State. My little CAT® operators were delighted to add the Mining “Build & Play” Playset alongside their favorite CAT® Shipping Port. This fun playset includes a CAT® machine and even a working rock crusher. The boys love the construction site sound effects and there is even music and voices included with this set. They set up their two playsets and played cooperatively (not even a bit of fighting) for almost two hours.

The Iron Diesel Train Set ($14.99) is another favorite part of their CAT® “city”. My husband is a toy train enthusiast so we have a few battery operated and electric train sets that we bring out only for special occasions/holidays. I really appreciate that this durable CAT® set is designed for younger children to actually play with as opposed to constantly worrying that they will be touching something very fragile and easily breakable. It is easy for them to assemble and there is over 7 feet of tracks that push together easily included in this set. To start and stop the train they just push a button, be careful to line up the trains properly and then the fun begins. This battery operated train set has been a lot of fun for the boys to play with and we love the detailing of the engine as well as the extra CAT® vehicles that are included on flat bed cars for transport by rail to their mining and shipping port playsets.

Adding to the fun, my four year old son loves the CAT® E-Z Machines™ R/C. These are the perfect first remote controlled vehicles for preschoolers because it is easy to operate. The child simply presses the button on top to start and stop the vehicle and then they use the remote control to go forward. Watch out because my son quickly figured out that this vehicle can be set into spin motion (it will spin in place) and the bucket moves up and down.

Jacob is always a bit envious watching his older brother build trucks (another brand) and he gets frustrated that he is not able to do it himself. Thanks to CAT® Toys, he is able to build confidently with the CAT® Take-A-Part Machine. Using a power motorized wrench, he can build a dump truck all by himself and I love to see him beaming with pride and self confidence as his truck gets put together. His big brother of course is on stand-by mode in case he should be needed to offer his building “expertise”. There is a variety of Take-A-Part Machines available including a Dump Truck, Wheel Loader and Skid Steer.

I like to provide my children with toys that promote their creativity and the use of their imaginations. Since my boys love to build, play in the dirt and often imagine themselves as construction workers, CAT® Toys are consistently among their favorites, getting lots of play time. I like the affordable price point and the high quality of CAT® toys which can often be mixed together to create larger playsets making it a great gift idea.

You are invited to visit Toy State to browse the entire collection of CAT® toys for preschoolers and younger children. CAT® Toys are available for purchase online at and at Toys R Us, Walmart, Kmart as well as other retailers.
