TRESemmé® Split Remedy™ Review
In 2006, I cut my hair really short. I was ready for a change and a new look, but it wasn’t quite what I had hoped for. I missed my long hair and I have been growing it back since then. Fast forward 6 years to 2012 and my hair is now midway down my back. It’s the longest it has ever been and I’m still planning on growing it longer. However, one obstacle has been dealing with split ends. I’d like to go as long as possible in between haircuts so my hair has a chance to grow. It’s tough though because of those darn split ends!
I was happy to discover a new line of products that were designed specifically for treating your split ends: TRESemmé® Split Remedy™! I couldn’t wait to try it out to see how it would work on my split ends. It’s been months since my last haircut so my ends are not the prettiest sight right now. I’m due yesterday for a haircut!
There’s five products in the TRESemmé® Split Remedy™ line: Shampoo, Conditioner, Leave-In Conditioning Treatment, Sealing Serum and Leave-In Conditioning Spray. I also wanted to mention that you only need to use one of the leave-in treatments with the shampoo and conditioner. You can choose your favourite from the three products.
The TRESemmé® Split Remedy™ Shampoo has a light, pleasant scent and lathers easily. I massage it into my scalp and make sure I get all my hair covered. I also followed the directions on the bottle to lightly squeeze my hair from roots to tips to make sure its rinses thoroughly.
The next step is to follow up with the TRESemmé® Split Remedy™ Conditioner. I make sure to completely cover all my hair but especially concentrate on conditioning my ends. I try to leave it on for a least a minute or two before rinsing, but sometimes that’s hard because my showers need to be quick!
After towel drying my hair, I used one of the three conditioning treatments. I’ve tried all three of them ( Leave-In Conditioning Treatment, Sealing Serum and Leave-In Conditioning Spray) and they are all basically the same just a different format. The Leave-In Conditioning Treatment looks like conditioner, the Sealing Serum is like a gel and the Leave-In Conditioning Spray is a spray mist.
My favourite of the three is the TRESemmé® Split Remedy™ Leave-In Conditioning Spray because it’s the fastest one to use. I’m a wash and go type of gal and it’s perfect for me. Just a few spritzes on my towel dried hair and I work it into the ends. Then I comb it out so it’s not knotted and then scrunch it up to bring out my natural curls. I normally let it air dry and then pull it off my face with a thin headband.
I’ve noticed a few changes in the past week that I’ve been using these products. The biggest change is the difference it’s made on my split ends. Remember I said I needed a haircut like yesterday? Now I would say I could wait another month (or two!) before I have to book an appointment with my hairdresser! My ends don’t look frizzy at all anymore. I’m extremely happy about that because now I can continue to grow my hair a little bit longer!
I also found that my hair has more body now. I have very fine, thin hair so getting volume is not an easy task. Even John noticed a difference and asked if I did something with my hair. He rarely notices anything like that!
It’s also easier to comb out my wet hair after my shower. Normally I wince in pain because my hair is so tangled and it hurts to try and get the knots out. I find it MUCH easier to comb through now that I’ve been using this line.
These are salon quality products and some of the best I’ve ever tried. I’m amazed at the difference they’ve made in just a week of using them. I’ve told my mom and sisters how well they work and to give them a try them and I also wanted to share my experience with my readers and encourage you to try them out as well and see what a difference they make.
