Jake and the Never Land Pirates | Peter Pan Returns DVD Review

Title: Jake & the Never Land Pirates: Peter Pan Returns (Two-Disc DVD + Digital Copy Combo)

My children love the story of Peter Pan and are big fans of pirates in general so when Jake and the Never Land Pirates debuted on the Disney Jr. Channel, I was confident that it would be a big hit. I was right…..they love it!

They were very excited to watch Jake and the Never Land Pirates: Peter Pan Returns ($19.99) recently for our Family Movie Night. This DVD + digital copy is action packed with six episodes and even bonus material for a total run time of 130 minutes.

When Peter Pan realizes he is missing his shadow he decides to return to Never Land to get help from his friend, the young pirate named Jake. It features many of my children’s favorite characters from the Disney show including Izzy, Cubby and the hilarious parrot, Skully. Will Peter Pan get his shadow back or will the team face defeat by Captain Hook and his mates? I love that this show focuses on themes and values such as friendship, teamwork and heroism. It is an exciting and fun show for younger children and I don’t have to worry about any inappropriate content.

Jake and the Never Land Pirates: Peter Pan Returns was released on April 3rd 2012 so hurry and get your copy! You can purchase this Disney title online or at retailers nearest to you now.

To celebrate the release of Jake and the Never Land Pirates: Peter Pan Returns my children and their friends enjoyed a special pirate themed Easter gathering complete with fun activities! On the Saturday before Easter they had a blast creating lots of pirate crafts including building “The Forever Sword”, pirate hats, a rainbow wand and even a neat treasure chest filled with “gold” coins. My kids love to color so the Jake and the Never Land Pirates themed coloring pages were a big hit. For a bit of adventure, the kids went on a treasure hunt using the treasure map and markers. They got really excited for an appearance their special celebrity “guests” including a 12” plush “Cubby” and a 12” plush “Captain Hook” who crashed the party. At the end of a fun afternoon, they were ready to settle down and color their Easter eggs using the special Easter Egg Coloring Kit that was included in our party box. This event was definitely a big hit with my children and their friends!
