Icon Puzzles Review

I have always wanted to try one of those custom picture puzzles, but never got around to it. Of course, when I had the opportunity to review the “Picture Perfect” Personalized Photo Heart Jig Saw Puzzle from Icon Puzzles, I chose my son Caleb as my model. I was very excited to receive the package and loved it immediately. To be fair, with such a cute picture – how could you not?! I like the hobby-turned-business Cinderella story of the Icon Puzzles company, which is now part of The Anniversary Rose/Dakota Gifts family. I’m not against large companies, but I do appreciate the special care and attention that small businesses give to their customers. Icon Puzzles was no exception to this trend.

I love that the puzzle is a unique heart shape – not only the puzzle as a whole, but there are a few individual heart-shaped puzzle pieces as well. My son’s face and little butt cheeks are hearts, and I thought that was precious. I took the puzzle apart and put it back together, and the odd heart-shape presented an extra challenge. It wasn’t difficult to put together, but it was just different than the usual rectangular puzzle, which I enjoyed. As for the quality of the puzzle itself, it’s not your typical puzzle material. Usually puzzle pieces are a thin cardboard that can be bent. These were much sturdier and almost felt like glass. I can tell that these pieces will last. The only downside to the material is that it will be harder to transfer a complete puzzle with this kind of material; it doesn’t stick together like the traditional cardboard, but instead fits together more loosely.

You can order your own puzzle from The Anniversary Rose for $23.95 (U.S. and Canada).

Disclosure: I was not financially compensated for this post. I received a sample of the product for review purposes. The opinions are completely my own based on my experience.
