Green Works Spring Cleaning Review

For the past month, I’ve been slowly poking away at my Spring Cleaning. It’s a big job, but I always feel so good when it’s done and the house is clean and clutter-free. I’ve was even able to get John to “let go” of a few items that I considered trash so I would say it’s been a success!

I’ve been using mainly Green Works cleaning products to get the job done. I’ve been using their products for a number of years now and I know that they work great!  I also like that their products are made from naturally-derived plant and mineral ingredients.  I try to use natural products whenever I can.

I used a whole slew of Green Works products including:

  • Green Works natural all-purpose cleaner
  • Green Works natural bathroom cleaner
  • Green Works glass and surface cleaner
  • Green Works toilet bowl cleaner
  • Green Works natural dishwashing cleaner in original and tangerine
  • Green Works natural biodegradable cleaning wipes

The Green Works natural all-purpose cleaner was used in every room in my home. It’s the first one I grab when there’s a spill or mess anywhere.  I used it on counters, the outside of the fridge and stove, on the stairs & banister, window ledges, outside of the toilet, etc. It doesn’t have a harsh smell so that’s another reason I use it so often.

In my bathrooms, I mainly used the Green Works natural bathroom cleaner and natural toilet bowl cleaner. Let me tell you, cleaning the bathrooms is my least favourite room to clean in the house. However, I was able to get the job done quickly because these products performed awesome! I used the natural bathroom cleaner in my stand-up shower and couldn’t get over how easy it was to wipe off the soap scum and grime. I would have thought that these stains would have needed elbow grease to disappear, but I was pleasantly surprised. I literally just sprayed the cleaner and then waited a couple minutes and came back and it wiped right up. I told myself it wasn’t so bad and next time, I won’t procrastinate about doing it!  Same deal with the toilet….it was a cinch to clean with the toilet bowl cleaner as it always is.

We *just* purchased a dishwasher a few weeks ago, but it’s not hooked up yet. I’ve been doing the dishes by hand for years now and I don’t mind it. The only thing I don’t like is when the suds disappear from the water within in minutes of adding in the soap. I used Green Works natural dishwashing liquid in tangerine scent and loved how sudsy my water got and stayed pretty much until I was done doing the dishes. It also smells really nice too!

For our wood floors, I switched to Green Works multi-surface cleaner. Just fill half a bucket with water then add about 1/2 cup of the cleaner to the bucket and it’s ready to go. I was surprised to see that it was safe to use on my hardwood floors. I didn’t know that prior to doing this review or I probably would have tried it sooner. I’m happy to report my floors are nice and clean.

The last two products I used on specific areas in my home. Green Works natural glass and surface cleaner was mainly used on the mirrors in the bathrooms and hall and it left no streaks! The biodegradable cleaning wipes are used on my baseboards and heating vents. We have oil heat so we have these heating vents close to the floor that are like dust magnets. The wipes are perfect for the job! It really makes a difference if the room has clean baseboards/vents. My mom said she always looks at the baseboards when she goes into someone’s house. She always emphasized to me how important it was to keep them clean.
