Week 29 on Nutrisystem #NSNation

I think it’s really important to have a strong support system while you are losing weight on Nutrisystem. Emailing, texting, etc., with my friend in California who is also trying to shed some weight has really helped me out over the past week.

The intent was also to exercise more often as well, but sadly that didn’t happen. Last week I managed to get a cardio/weight lifting workout in, but this week the only exercise that I have gotten is walking with a few bursts of running thrown in there. Sadly not much.

But I’m ok with that, especially after what happened when I stepped on the scale this morning. Before I went to bed, I was chanting in my head, “137, 137, 137…” hoping that I would see some nice progress this morning when I woke up. I did my usual morning routine: toilet, scale, and wake up Zoe. The scale this morning read 137.0 lbs.

You’ll remember that last week I was again at that weight I could never seem to dip below, 138.4 lbs. That seems to be where I always settle. So this is the most progress that I have made on Nutrisystem to date.

I’m back on track, fully committed, and willing to work harder than ever. And it’s not easy. For example, my husband wanted The Pie Pizzeria last night, and I had a meltdown. I love The Pie. Gooey, cheesy, garlic-flavored pizza. Amazing. I told him if he was going to have that, he needed to go out for it and couldn’t bring it home. Because as much as I like their pizza, I only want it when it’s fresh. It makes horrible leftovers, in my opinion.

He changed his mind after a bit, and we ended up at one of our usual restaurants instead, which made us both happy. I love their salads. I ordered their house salad, told them to remove the fried onion strings from it, and I had a perfectly Nutrisystem approved salad with my favorite creamy salad dressing on the side. Which is ok, because that is also approved, with moderation.

That’s not to say I didn’t have any weak moments this week, because I did. I managed to control my cravings, though. I split the cinnamon roll with my friend, and skipped my Nutrisystem dessert that night. I had a cheddar bagel with cream cheese one evening, and split it in half with my daughter.

Moderation works. Don’t abuse it, though, because that is when you get yourself in big trouble and start gaining, or at least maintaining and not losing anything.

So while this week was incredibly difficult to make it through, I’m thrilled that I did. I can’t be certain, but I think this is the biggest weight loss I have seen so far from one week to the next. I lost 1.4 lbs.! If I add in exercise and not just say I will but actually do it, I think I can see a bigger loss!
