Today I would like to welcome Ericka from Saving While Making Money! I had a chance to learn more about herblog and here’s what she had to say…
Please tell me about yourself.
I’m a 50 something Southern women who is now living on Cape Cod with my 5 save/rescue cats.
Please tell me about your blog.
I started Saving While Making Money to try to give back. I’m on a very limited income, but blogging can be done with a minimal investment. My blog gives tips and reviews on different ways to save money and make money. I plan on adding resources for people in special circumstances or low income.
How did you get started?
I kept thinking I wanted to help people who are in circumstances that need help. I know I learned so much from blogs. I had things I felt other people would want/need to hear.
Who does your blog appeal to?
People who want to save and/or make money. Also people who may need a little extra help.
What is the biggest challenge you have faced so far with your blog?
Learning how to use WordPress. I had written several reviews on Notepad, but couldn’t figure out how to actually get them on the web. It took me almost 2 weeks of pretty much non-stop research to get my blog to the point where I wanted to publish articles. I have a new appreciation for bloggers now. I couldn’t afford to have anyone help me with design, so I’ve done it all myself. I’m not very creative that way.
What do you love about blogging?
I love giving back. I hope I’m able to help someone or teach someone something that helps them.
Do you have a blogging pet peeve?
My cat laying on top of my keyboard.
Tell me some of your favourite blogs that you read.
Yours of course. I’ve learned a lot from your site. Familiylicious Reviews, Married to Coupons, Married to Graphics, Mama Told Me, Practical Frugality, Pawsitive Living, Addicted to Saving, Goddess of Frugality, Randomosity and Fishful Thinking. I follow a lot of blogs. As a whole, they all seem to be really nice, caring people.
How can people find you?
My twitter id and StumbleUpon is humanecats. I have email and RSS set up on my blog.
