Nivea Review

Taking care of my skin is very important to me, especially since I live in a very dry climate and have sensitive skin. I get bumps with my shaving cream, and my face is always flaky with dry skin, so I am always excited to try any skin care companies.

Nivea is celebrating its 100th birthday this year, but up until now I had never tried any of their products. I was very excited when I received 2 lip products, a shower gel, and a lotion that all focus on restoring moisture into the skin.

Nivea Vitamin Swirl Lip

Thanks to constant allergies, I end up breathing through my mouth at night and wake up with dry, cracked lips. I always like to have a lip product nearby so I can try to undo the night’s damage and reduce the ugly appearance of my cracked lips. Nivea’s Vitamin Swirl did the trick; within just 48 hours and repeated applications throughout those two days, I saw less dry skin on my lips and they felt soft and silky. The Vitamin Swirl contains Acai Berry (which is considered a “superfood” and is said to have anti-aging properties) and Wild Apple extracts. It has a pleasant scent and faint taste to it, as well as a nice, glossy shine that could be worn over lipstick or on its own. It’s perfect for any skin tone.

Natural Volume Lip

This is a very light weight, smooth gloss that adds a lot of shine to your lips while also giving them a fuller look. Other products that enhance lip fullness can burn and sting, but you won’t experience that with this lip product. The color tone also seems like it would be a perfect match for any skin color.

Extended Moisture Lotion

I’m extremely picky about lotion these days, and don’t like ones that are greasy or slow absorbing into my skin. If I’m in a hurry to get somewhere after I’ve showered, I’ll often skip lotion because some lotions take too long to absorb. The Extended Moisture Lotion is not greasy or oily, and doesn’t take long to absorb into my skin. The effects also don’t wear out after only a few hours; if I applied the lotion in the early afternoon after my shower, I still felt moisturized by the next morning.

Touch of Renewal Lathering Body Scrub

I love body washes that have exfoliating beads in them. Because my skin is sensitive, I don’t want to go overboard with exfoliating. Some scrubs can irritate and cause itching after use, but Nivea’s Touch of Renewal is a great balance of exfoliator, cleanser, and moisturizer. I feel refreshed and clean after using it, and it even seems to make the red tones on my arms a little less noticeable.

Most of Nivea’s skin care products are designed for men and women, and any skin type. They are so gentle that I would not hesitate to use them on my daughter’s dry skin. Nivea also has products that are tailored to men’s needs, such as shaving gel and even moisturizers.

Disclosure: I was not financially compensated for this post. I received a sample of the product for review purposes. The opinions are my own, based on my personal experience with the product.
