Indigo Kids Review & Giveaway (Can) #IndigoKids

My niece, Avery, turns 4 this May. It’s crazy to see how quickly time goes by because I can remember not long ago when she was first born. She lives in Ontario with her mom (my sister, Laura) and I haven’t seen her since the Fall of 2009. I’ve seen pictures so I know she has grown up to be a cute little girl. I feel bad that I haven’t been able to visit in such a long time. I’m in Nova Scotia so it’s a long way to travel for me in car and a plane ride is so darn expensive. This year I wanted to send her a birthday gift for her fourth birthday. My parents (who live in Ontario too) are coming to visit us here in April. I figured I could send home a gift for Avery and save on postage.

I have such a hard time deciding on what to buy her. Since I don’t live near her and haven’t seen her since she’s been out of diapers, I don’t really know what she likes/dislikes or the toys she already has. I enlisted the help of my youngest daughter, Bridget and headed to Indigo Kids online to see what I could find for Avery.

Indigo Kids has a section on their site called Indigo Kids Birthday. It was exactly what I needed!! First of all, it lets you shop by age (1 through 9) so with a click of a mouse, you can find a selection of age appropriate gifts. I checked out Age 4 for Avery to see what kinds of items I would find. I discovered lots of fun toys including games, toys, books, art stuff, electronics and more. Bridget helped me pick what to buy Avery (and I think she wanted these for herself!). We decided on two products for Avery’s birthday present: Felt Food Sandwich Set by Melissa & Doug ($22.95) and Scaredy Squirrel Has A Birthday Party by Melanie Watt ($12.88).

Of course, Bridget had me looking for presents for her in the 7 and 8 year old section. I did end up buying her a couple of toys on top of my order for Avery. I mean she did help me with my decision on what to buy after all.

I also got FREE SHIPPING! All orders over $25 qualify for free shipping. I was happy about that.

I was also able to personalize my order with a card that said Happy Birthday Avery at no extra cost. I could have also taken advantage of their gift wrap option. It’s $4.95 per item.

After I paid and checked out I received a confirmation email that my order was received and I was also able to view the estimated shipping date. It stated on or by March 19th. My order arrived on March 8th which is just 4 days after I placed the order online. I was shocked that it shipped so quickly!

When it arrived, I had to pry the Felt Play food from Bridget’s hands. She really wanted it! I told her that we would be wrapping it up to send to Avery when Grandma and Poppa come to visit in April. I had originally thought about just putting it in a gift bag, but Bridget informed me that “Avery was a peeker”. Had I known that my niece was a “peeker”, I would have just bought the gift wrap option on the Indigo Kids site.

I loved how easy and quick it was to shop at Indigo Kids. I appreciated that I didn’t have to spend hours searching and trying to decide what to buy. I will definitely be coming back to shop again the next time I have a birthday gift to buy!

If you live near an Indigo, you can check and see if they have an Indigo Kids at your location. If they do, go in and check it out. They offer:

  • Free gift bags on every purchase
  • Book & toy recommendations based on age
  • Wide aisles for strollers and colourful decor for a pleasant shopping experience for both you and the kids

Plus they are also offering Spring Break Activities for the kids!
