UM! Brands Review
Currently, I live in an apartment. If you are too, or you ever have, you know that it can be hard to decorate. You don’t want to put any holes in the walls and then have to pay for damages. Well Um!Brands has a couple of great new products that can help.
Um!Brands is named after the sound you make right before you have an epiphany. All of their products use a patent-pending new technology called Ever-stik. Ever-stik uses “thermoplastic elastomer” to create nano-suction, adhering their products to most non-porous surfaces. In English, it creates millions if teeny tiny little suction cups so it can adhere itself to glass, metal, marble, and whiteboards. The backing is smooth and slightly sticky to the touch so it can be used again and again.
So now that you know a little about Um!Brands, I can tell you about their new product line. Um!Brands sent me three different items to review, their Hook-Um, Note-Um, and Stick-Um.
I’ll start with my favorite, the Stick-Um. I have a 19-month-old who loves to get his grubby little hands on my cell phone. If I leave it on any flat surface, he finds a way to get it. With the Stick-Um, he can’t get to the phone anymore. It is a rectangular base that sticks to any vertical surface, such as a wall, and holds your cell phone vertically. It almost seems like magic, like it is defying gravity. It held my old blackberry and my new Nokia Lumia. My husband’s blackberry has a slightly pebbled background and it did eventually fall off of the Stick-Um. So I would only recommend this if your cell phone has a completely smooth back.
Next is the Hook-Um. These come in two different types. One has a little knob on the end. I used this to hold the dogs leash on the back of the door, so it’d always be in one place. It can hold up to ten pounds. It did eventually fall with my jacket on it, but my jacket is a thick heavy woolen coat.
Finally, there is the note-um. This comes in two sizes. One is a little notecard size and the other is a giant full-page. I decided to put the smaller version next to our calender for notes. It is easy to write on and wipe off.
All of these products (and a few more) are available at UM!Brands online. The Stick-Ums come in a variety of colors and costs $6.99. The Note-Um comes in small (3″x4″), medium (6″x8″), and large (9″x12″). Those cost $5.99, $14.99, and $19.99 respectively. The Hook-Ums also come in a ton of different colors for $6.99 and special designs for $7.49.
Disclosure: I was not financially compensated for this post. I received a sample of the product for review purposes. The opinions are my own, based on my personal experience with the product.
