Tuesdays Top Blogs According to Colorimetry
Welcome to Tuesday’s Top Blogs! Come and discover some new and interesting blogs. Each week I will feature a different person and ask them to list their five favourite blogs and why they like them. This week, I’m pleased to have Laura from Colorimetry joining us.
I read a lot… it’s my fav de-stresser. There’s plenty to stress about with a new business in this economy and four kids…. three of ’em boys who think I’m crazy to read so much WHILE I’m luring them into reading, too!! I also write a lot. Pretty much obsessively. Blogging, on the other hand, is New Beans. I’m entirely new to the concept of finding other people who like the same books I do and creating an interesting site. What with being self-employed and managing four different homework schedules, I just feel lucky to be a Newbie!! My five favorite blogs are based on the past year or more. I’m finding a lot of fun new blogs and I hope to have more favorites soon!!
Robin McKinley: I really enjoy Robin McKinley’s style of writing. I love how she lets the tandem thoughts free with the footnotes and I am often laughing out loud reading her blog, or rather, snorting. She doesn’t often write about writing, although she’s working on the second half of Pegasus, she dives into bell-ringing, hellhounds, gardening, doodling, or knitting. My favorite part about her blog is her random energy of letting the thoughts fly.
The Chronicles of Paksenarrion’s World: Elizabeth Moon is a very interesting author to me. She is so methodical and focused. She posts every few days and it is typically about the book she is writing, although there’s lots of personal tidbits, too. She is excited about reaching goals in word count, for example, and manages to produce a book a year. I feel challenged by her to meet my own goals and I appreciate her transparent thoughts.
Calico Reaction: I joined Calico Reaction’s book club this year and it has been really fun. She gives detailed reviews and responds quickly to comments. I like her focus on the stories and the picks have been outside-the-box for me.
Readergirlz: I’ve been following the Readergirlz for a long time. I like the idea of authors getting together to support other authors and keeping up on what’s happening in the writing world.
Created by Ann: Ann is an amazing lady who is involved with the classic car world like I am (although she owns Fords and we own Chevys). On her Created by Ann site, she comes up with new card ideas all the time and is connected to an entire card-making network. I love her creativity… it’s inspiring!!
