Stellaluna DVD Review

My children and I love reading the award-winning children’s book by Janell Cannon so we were excited to view “Stellaluna” on DVD. This new release adaptation on DVD by Scholastic did not disappoint us because it brilliantly captures the charm of the beloved characters and story line from the book.

Stellaluna is a sweet fruit bat who accidently gets separated from her mom and is raised by a group of birds. She doesn’t understand why she can’t fit in with her new family but she will soon make an amazing discovery that will be life-changing. This is a wonderful story that celebrates the joy of friendship and family.

My children found this movie exciting and funny and they especially enjoyed singing along to the songs. They also enjoyed the fun Stellaluna activity book that is included inside the DVD case.

As a home educator, I am pleased that Scholastic promotes a love for reading and it was a joy to listen to my son reading aloud to the on screen read-along feature. This Stellaluna DVD is recommended for children ages 2-8 and it was a big hit in our household!

You can take a sneak peak at a movie clip and purchase Stellaluna on DVD for only $12.95 by visiting Scholastic!
