Seven Wonders of the World Discover Amazing Monuments to Civilization Review

At school today, my children visited the Temple of Artemis at Ephesus, the Great Pyramids and the Ruins of Manchu Picchu…..all without a passport! We were all captivated with the information packed into the Seven Wonders of the World-Discover Amazing Monuments to Civilization by Carmella Van Vleet.

From the “Build it Yourself” Series available through Nomad Press, this title includes 20 projects and a treasure trove of information about monuments from around the world. During the Chinese New Year, I referenced this book to teach about the Great Wall of China and we even made a “millet porridge” that was eaten by the workers who built the Great Wall.

Seven Wonders of the World includes fun trivia, engaging texts, illustrations and hands-on projects. It is a good resource designed for children ages 9-12 however my son (age 6, 1st grade) has really enjoyed learning about history and monuments from around the world. With my supervision, all of my children were able to participate in the projects and older children should be able to do most of the projects independently.

You are invited to visit Nomad Press to purchase your copy of Seven Wonders of the World (SRP $15.95).
