I’m always cold; I have to have a blanket on me and socks on my feet just to even try to stay warm. Over the years I’ve gone through quite the collection of slippers. In college, I even wore down the soles of my fuzzy blue and black striped slippers from wearing them so much–I wore them everywhere!
While I still adore funky, cute slippers (peek in my closet and take a look at my nifty Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles slippers), I also have to consider how warm my slippers actually keep my feet (cute is great, but warm is better!), and whether or not they are comfortable to walk around in throughout the day since I truly will wear them from sunrise to sunset.
These days I have been trying out something new from a Denmark-based company called glerups dk. The company was founded in 1993 by Nanny Glerups, who hand made felted wool slippers that instantly became a hit with friends and family members. Back then, she was only able to produce 2 pairs of slippers a day, and now she has made a business from what started out as a hobby. Shoes, slippers, boots, and even baby caps are now available for purchase all over the world.
I have truly been enjoying my experience with a pair of glerups dk felt shoes. They have smooth calfskin bottoms and are meant for indoor use only. I love lighter colors, so the grey shade was a perfect match for me. They are also available in charcoal grey, orange, nature brown, purple, and several other appealing colors. They are actually much lighter in weight than the slippers that I normally wear, and conform to the shape of my feet.
The glerups dk indoor felt shoes are a better choice for me than regular slippers: they keep my feet warmer, I can sit cross-legged on the couch easier while wearing them, and they are a much better fit as well.
