Book Review | The Snow Blew Inn
My children are Florida natives so each winter they dream longingly of snowy weather. The Snow Blew Inn by Dian Curtis Regan is the perfect children’s book for families read while snuggled up together next to the fireplace (or with the air conditioner turned down low in our case).
The delightful watercolor illustrations by Doug Cushman and warmth of the text almost makes you feel like you are a part of the characters that have gathered at the Snow Blew Inn one snowy winter night. It is a wonderful bedtime story that had my children begging me to “read it just one more time….please!”
The Snow Blew Inn is the story about a little Emma who is eagerly waiting for the arrival of her cousin for a sleepover. With wintry weather arriving and the snow falling, many other guests begin to arrive at the Snow Blew Inn but Emma worries that her cousin won’t make it through the snow. It has many appealing elements such as friendship, sharing and love for family.
Since I home school my children, I was very appreciative that the author also has a free teaching guide available for classrooms.
