La Creme Cow Spreadable Cheese Review & Giveaway (Can)

I’ve found the perfect snack that is both delicious and filling ~ La Creme Cow Spreadable Cheese!  I often eat a piece of cheese in between meals and I find it usually does the trick in holding me off till lunch/supper. This particular cheese is very filling and one piece does the trick  in curbing the hunger pangs.

La Creme Cow is a new line of spreadable cream cheese made by Parmalat Canada. It’s available in three yummy flavours: Original, Light and Parmesan & Peppercorn. I received all three flavours to try along with some other goodies. Look at the nice serving set I was sent! We snacked in style at our place this past week.

I tasted a piece of each variety on its on and again spread on a cracker. On it’s own it has a mild, creamy flavour. The Light Cheese tastes pretty close to the Original yet it has 43% less fat. If you are on a low carb diet, it is perfect snack on its own.

I also spread the cheese on the water crackers that came in my package. It spread easily like soft butter. Some spreadables don’t spread easy and you break the cracker (very annoying), but all crackers were left intact. My 7 year old could have done the job just as easily.

I jazzed up the crackers with some smoked salmon with pepper and WOW it was incredible. I LOVE smoked salmon and combined with the Parmesan and Peppercorn  cheese spread on a cracker was divine. This would make a great appetizer for a party or a savoury snack.  This is no ordinary cheese and crackers!

Some other serving suggestions that I’m wanting to try is Original or Light flavour on a cracker topped with a dollop of Red Pepper Jelly. Mmmmmmmmm I’ve been craving that since I got the cheese. I just have to find Red Pepper Jelly in my grocery store.

Some serving ideas include:

  • La Creme Cow Original cheese on a cracker topped with sliced berries or grapes and a little bit of pomegranate
  • La Creme Cow Original cheese on a cracker with half a cherry tomato, sprigs of arugula and a hint of balsamic vinegar, olive oil and salt
  • La Creme Cow Light cheese on a cracker with slices of cucumber and snipped chives

You can find La Creme Cow spreadable cheese in the dairy section in Loblaws or Metro grocery stores across Canada. The Original comes in a 12 pack ($5.49), Light comes in a 6 pack ($2.99) and Parmesan & Peppercorn comes in a 6 pack ($2.99).  I’ll be buying some more especially that Parmesan Peppercorn!! So darn good!
