The Amazing Fitness Adventures for Your Kids: 90 Days to Raising Healthy Children by Amy Parham and Phil Parham is an effective guide for parents who are looking to raise healthy, fit children. The grim statistics in this book about childhood obesity is an excellent motivator to change negative habits early in my children’s lives.
Even before my children were born, my husband and I agreed that our children would have limited access to free play on the computer or with video games and would be encouraged to play outside every day. I enjoyed reading the tips in this book about making a healthy and active lifestyle fun for families.

- Simple ways to prepare nutritious meals and snacks
- Fun and rewarding ways to make a healthy lifestyle a habit
I especially valued the chapter titled, “Your Kids are Watching You” which reinforces that children look up to us as parents for guidance on a healthy lifestyle. Our entire family (myself included) eats healthy foods and enjoys activities like swimming, biking, hiking and walking. However, I have not been able to shed those last 30 pounds of post-partum weight and have decided to show my children that I am doing an actual fitness program (yoga, Zumba etc.) on a regular basis so that I can be as healthy a role model as possible for them.
I really enjoyed reading this book and I like that it is broken up into daily segments to make it easy to follow, especially for busy families. The Amazing Fitness Adventures for Your Kids: 90 Days to Raising Healthy Children is available for purchase of the SRP of $12.99.
