Afterac Review & Giveaway (US & Can)

My family loves to get outside and enjoy nature but I always worry about accidents with our little ones while we are hiking, camping or biking on off-road trails. Inevitably someone always falls down and gets a cut or other minor injury and we are left to improvise without a first aid kit.

I was thrilled to discover a company, Afterac which has a vast online selection of safety kits, first aid kits and emergency essentials. This is one stop shopping for all of our outdoor safety needs and it will also be kept in storage for use for disaster preparedness if needed during hurricane season.

My husband and I are very impressed with the Lifeline® Hiker in a Bottle safety kit which is packed full of essential items for our hiking, biking and camping trips. This BPA-free water bottle holds a whopping 32 ounces of water and it has a handy carabiner to make toting it easier on trips i.e. we attached it to the outside of my backpack but it also worked well hooked onto my husband’s belt loop. Conveniently stored inside the water bottle are a waist pack, multi-function whistle/compass, headlamp (my husband loved this feature), pocket knife, emergency poncho, 20 piece first aid kit and a reusable zipper-lock bag. I was really shocked initially with how many products are contained in this water bottle and appreciate that it is still light weight and doesn’t take a lot of valuable room in our bag. This is a “must-have” product for our family whenever we are heading out to explore! You can purchase the Lifeline® Hiker in a Bottle for the SRP of $26.99 which is an excellent value in my opinion.

When my husband was given the Gerber® Bear Grylls Survival Series Ultimate Kit (SRP $67.50) he literally swooned with excitement. This 16 piece kit is compact yet packed with survival necessities including a Gerber® Mini-Multi Tool, waterproof bag, signaling mirror, survival blanket, fire starter (this was a BIG hit and really worked too), fishing kit, sewing kit, snare wire, waterproof matches, a miniature light and a hand saw plus extras! This kit is very lightweight and takes up little room in our backpack. We took this with us when hiking for the day in a nature preserve and I think my husband was a bit disappointed that we didn’t have an emergency so he could put this ultimate kit into use. I, on the other hand was relieved that our adventure was emergency free but felt reassured and confident that we will have the survival tools necessary if the need arises. If you have a loved one who enjoys spending time outdoors then this kit would literally be the “ultimate” gift idea.

For camping, backpacking and hiking (or even off-road or mountain biking), the Lifeline® Trail Light 5 (SRP $39.99) First Aid Kit is perfect for our family of five because it includes enough supplies to treat up to five people for up to five days! The most impressive feature is that this first aid kit only weighs a miniscule 11.9 ounces so you won’t even notice it in your pack. It has lots of first aid essentials for wound care, medications and first aid equipment. There are bandages, gauze, gauze pads and dressings, sting relief pads, triple antibiotic ointment, alcohol prep pads, sunscreen, iodine prep pads, splinter forceps, vinyl gloves and much, much more. While we were biking on the off road trails last week with our three children ages 4, 5 and 6, my eldest lost his balance on a jump and badly scraped his knee. We were able to quickly clean the area, apply a bandage and he was back riding within fifteen minutes.

I am so happy to have discovered the Afterac website because it is a treasure trove of emergency and safety products at affordable prices. Since I live in Florida, I will definitely be stocking up on emergency essentials prior to hurricane season.

You are invited to visit the Afterac website to stock up on your favorite safety kits or to learn more about all of the products available from roadside kits, knives, survival stoves, emergency lighting, emergency radios and much more.
