2012 Releases From Walt Disney Studios

2012 is going to be a wonderful year for family-friendly films! I cannot even begin to tell you how very excited I am for, well, EVERYTHING on this list, and that’s including Chimpanzee, which I am 100% positive I will need a box of tissues to watch.

Get out your calendars and start making your movie plans now; here’s what we all have to look forward to in the new year from Walt Disney Studios:

January 13th, 2012

BEAUTY AND THE BEAST 3D (I had the opportunity to see a sneak preview of Beauty and the Beast 3D, so look for my full review on this in January!)

February 17th, 2012

THE SECRET WORLD OF ARRIETTY (I saw an advance screening of The Secret World of Arrietty a few months ago, and LOVED it! Check back for my full review in February.)

March 9th, 2012

JOHN CARTER (I absolutely LOVE Taylor Kitsch, who plays the title character. I’ve only seen teaser trailers for this film so far, and cannot wait to see more. I’ve already downloaded A Princess of Mars by Edgar Rice Burroughs, the book on which the film is based. Anyone want to read it with me??)

April 20th, 2012

CHIMPANZEE (What a great release for Earth Day! I haven’t seen any of the Disney Nature films because I know they will make me cry, but I absolutely MUST see this one. I’ve been seeing previews for it for months when going to movies.)

May 4th, 2012

MARVEL’S THE AVENGERS (I love superhero movies! A handsome and star-studded cast, plus what I’m sure will be an amazing story. I adored Thor and am excited to see him join Captain America and Iron Man in the same film.)

June 22nd, 2012

DISNEY/PIXAR’S BRAVE (There’s still a lot I don’t know about this film, but from what I have seen and read about it, I’m going to adore it. The first central female role in any Pixar film yet! Anyone else excited for this one, too?)

August 15th, 2012

THE ODD LIFE OF TIMOTHY GREEN (I have seen some top secret information on this film back in June, and it is one of my Most Anticipated Films for 2012. It stars Jennifer Garner, one of my personal favorites! I also love the story idea, and think it will be a magical film that I will want to watch over and over. And it comes out just in time for my birthday!)

September 14th, 2012

FINDING NEMO 3D (I have watched this film numerous times at home with my daughter, and actually never got to see it in theatres. I am so excited about its release in 3D! We’ll post the trailer and movie poster when we have it available!)

October 5th, 2012

FRANKENWEENIE (Doesn’t this image from Frankenweenie remind you of The Nightmare Before Christmas? Well, it should! It’s a new Tim Burton film. It’s about a boy whose dog dies, and how he brings him back to life. It’s entirely in black and white, and uses stop-motion animation. I love this idea, and cannot wait to see it.)

November 12th, 2012

WRECK-IT RALPH (I have been DYING to talk about this film! We first learned about it back in June when we saw a sneak peek of it. Have you ever wondered what arcade game characters do once the arcade is closed? Well, we’re about to find out. What if the characters are nothing like who they are in their games, or don’t want to be? My husband is a video gamer, and I think this will be the perfect movie for him. No trailer or movie poster available just yet…)
