Welcome to Simply Stacie’s Saturday Featured Blog! If you would like your blog featured, please fill out this form.

Today I would like to welcome Elizabeth from Be Joyful Always! I had a chance to learn more about herblog and here’s what she had to say…

Please tell me about yourself.

As an American currently living in Cyprus, I’m a freelance writer and blogger with an editing business…Elizabeth Editing. With a degree in English and Journalism, I simply love to write and edit.

I enjoy organizing, traveling, reading, editing, writing, and blogging, as well as photography, art, health and beauty products, vegetarianism, and missions work. Some of my favorite activities include exploring archaeological and cultural sites, swimming and the beach, and taking loads of photos.

And I’m married to a wonderful man, Elie.

Please tell me about your blog.

Be Joyful Always is my personal blog with updates about my life in Cyprus, including photos, events, travels, devotionals, recipes, book reviews, etc.

Since I live in Cyprus, this country is a main theme throughout my blog. As a little island in the Mediterranean Sea, Cyprus is sometimes confused as a part of Greece, but it’s actually a separate country. Currently, Cyprus is divided into the two sections: Southern Cyprus (simply called Cyprus or the Republic of Cyprus) and Northern Cyprus (occupied by Turkey). Since I recently moved to Cyprus, I’m not an authority on this political situation, so my blog doesn’t reflect these issues. I live in the southern part of Cyprus, and I’ve actually never visited the northern part. Geographically, Cyprus is located in the Middle East; however, it’s a part of the EU (European Union) and Europe.

In my daily life, I strive to display 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18, which states: “Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” Hence, the name of the blog: Be Joyful Always.

How long have you been blogging?

I started my current blog in February 2010, so I could share about my life in Cyprus. Previously, I had another blog, while I worked at Radio 4VEH in Haiti. Also, I’m planning to set up a new blog called Exploring Cyprus. So far, I’ve been blogging for about four years.

How did you get started?

Originally, I started blogging to share about my life in Haiti and the ministry of Radio 4VEH. Later, I moved to Cyprus and wanted to continue to share about my life away from the States. After living in Cyprus for over a year, I started my Be Joyful Always blog.

What kinds of products do you feature on your blog?

My blog primarily shares about my life in Cyprus, including various events, holidays and festivals, archaeological and cultural sites, and numerous photos. I also feature book reviews, recipes, etc.

Who does your blog appeal to?

My blog is primarily geared towards anyone who loves to travel, view photographs, and read book reviews.

What direction do you see your blog going in the future?

I want to continue my personal blog in the same manner, focusing on my life in Cyprus, as well as book reviews, recipes, devotionals, and hopefully more giveaways. I’m working on setting up a new blog: Exploring Cyprus. This blog will be more geared towards the island of Cyprus, which will be ideal for those who want to visit Cyprus, who already live in Cyprus, or who simply love to travel and learn about another culture.

What is the biggest challenge you have faced so far with your blog?

For me, blogging simply isn’t a challenge right now.

What do you love about blogging?

I adore blogging. I love to write and edit my blog posts, as well as promote my blog on facebook, twitter, etc.

Do you have a blogging pet peeve?

I’m not a fan of the “follow me back” comments. It’s always nice to receive feedback on my blog posts, but I appreciate the sincere comments.

Tell me some of your favourite blogs that you read.

I follow several blogs, but a few of my current favorites include the following blogs:
