Evening at the Capitol #EqualCanada #cbias

The best restaurant in our small town is the Capitol Family Restaurant hands down. Not only does it have the best food, but great prices and service too.  John and I ate supper there this past weekend and the food was amazing as always. I normally order the New York Steak Sandwich, but I decided to try something a little different this time. I settled on Dill Pickle Spears and Clams & Chips. Living in the Maritimes, there’s always an abundance of seafood dishes at our local restaurants. John ordered a Mushroom and Swiss Burger with fries.  Yum!

The Capitol serves breakfast all day so if you are craving breakfast for dinner, this is the place to go. I noticed on the table they had a collection of various sugars and sweeteners for coffee. They had regular sugar, golden sugar and a brand of articificial sweetener. I noticed that they did not have Equal Sweeteners. For a place that is known for serving breakfast all day, I thought they should have a better selection of sweeteners for coffee drinkers.

When our waitress took away our plates and asked if we wanted dessert or coffee, I asked her if the packets on the table were the only selection of sweeteners available. She said whatever is on the table is what they had. I asked her if they had Equal Sweeteners and she informed me that no they did not. She did say that her other job where she worked as a waitress did offer Equal Sweetener though! So the Best Western in Greenwood carries Equal, but not the Capitol. Unfortunately the manager wasn’t available, but she said she would tell him about my suggestion for offering Equal Sweetener as an option for customers.

Overall, supper was good and John and I enjoyed spending time together. However, we did not order coffee or dessert! I’m curious to see if they take me up on my suggestion of providing Equal Sweetener to customers on my next visit….
