Simply Stacie Goes to New York City | Red Carpet Premiere of DreamWorks’ War Horse
Less than a week ago, Simply Stacie received an invitation from Disney and DreamWorks to attend the Red Carpet Premiere for the DreamWorks film, War Horse. Directed by Steven Spielberg, it is the story of a young man named Albert, and a horse named Joey. The setting is World War I, and Joey and Albert are forced apart because of the war. Joey finds himself turned into a “war horse”, inspiring every person he comes across from German soldiers to a French farmer and his granddaughter. Based on the book by Michael Morpurgo, War Horse is a tale of “loyalty, hope, and tenacity”. War Horse opens on Christmas Day. If it’s your family’s tradition to attend a movie on Christmas Day, this is the film to see! Note that it is rated PG-13, and may not be suitable for a younger audience.
I’ve been hearing about this film for literally months, and am so excited to be getting this special opportunity to attend its Red Carpet Premiere. When in Los Angeles back in September, a copy of the novel War Horse was included in our gift bags from Disney; I’ll definitely be reading it before leaving for New York City!
In addition to attending the Red Carpet Premiere, we will also be viewing Beauty and the Beast 3D, which will be in theatres everywhere on January 13, 2012. Beauty and the Beast came out in theatres when I was about 8 years old, and has been one of my favorite Disney films ever since. I fell in love with the beautiful animation, all of the enchanted objects, and of course the timeless love story itself. Growing up, I loved playing the song Beauty and the Beast on piano. In fact, Disney songs were the only thing that my various piano teachers could get me to practice. Additionally, I have seen Beauty and the Beast as a musical FOUR times on stage. 3 of those were at professional theatres, and the 4th time was my former high school’s musical one year. This movie/stage performance still has the ability to move me to tears every time. I look forward to seeing the film once again on the big screen right where it belongs.
There are a lot of other things in store for us, and I will be giving you all of the details as they become available, including a list of the other bloggers who will be attending along with their websites so you can experience this amazing opportunity with us every step of the way!
