Holiday Gift Guide | Babar and Father Christmas DVD Review
Title: Babar and Father Christmas
About the DVD:
In this delightful, fully animated holiday tale, Babar’s children, Arthur, Pom, Flora and Alexander write a letter to Father Christmas asking him to visit Celesteville at Christmas. But their letter never arrives because it is stolen by Babar’s Arch-enemy, Rataxes the Rhinoceros, who wants all of Santa’s toys for himself! When Babar sees his children so disappointed, he decides to make a journey in search of Father Christmas. Secretly followed by Rataxes, Babar’s adventure takes home viewers from Paris all the way to the North Pole, to the very toy shop of Father Christmas himself! Can Babar save Christmas for Celesteville? DVD bonuses include two extra episodes highlighting core family values, “A Child in the Snow” & “The Gift”, and an exclusive Babar coloring book! Watch and find out in BABAR: THE CLASSIC SERIES: BABAR AND FATHER CHRISTMAS, a soon-to-be treasured part of every family’s home entertainment library!
Since I was a little girl, I have loved the classic book series by Jean de Brunhoff and featuring Babar and his family and friends. This elephant and his adventures have always captured my imagination and I love being able to share it with my own children in this classic series on DVD. My four year old son and five year old daughter especially enjoyed watching this holiday movie and have requested to watch it again (and again) which I promised we would do as we get closer to the holidays. I enjoyed watching one of the bonus episodes, “A Child in the Snow” which was a nice story for Christmas and my children love the bonus coloring book. The digitally restored and re-mastered graphics on this DVD are colorful and visually appealing and the content is age appropriate.
Babar and Father Christmas the DVD has a release date of 11/22/11 with the SRP of $14.98 by Entertainment One™.
