Book Review | The Bedtime Book for Dogs
Title: The Bedtime Book for Dogs
Author: Bruce Littlefield
About the Book:
An entertaining tale that children and parents alike will enjoy: a dog decides to take himself for a walk and discovers that life is not as fun without a friend along But this is a children’s book that dogs will find joy in listening to as well. Littlefield tailored the book to pique the interest of a furry friend by filling it with vocabulary and images dogs respond to. “I thought through every aspect of the book–from dogs favorite words to the colors used in the illustrations. I incorporated lots of green and blue, as dogs see most vividly in those colors,” he explains.
My six year old son is learning to read and he often practices with our beloved boxer, Jack lying at his feet. I have definitely noticed that Adam is more comfortable reading when his dog is near him so I think it is a wonderful idea to have a book that is meant for kids to read to their dogs. All three of my children thought it was a grand idea and I noticed a boost of extra confidence as my son read it aloud to a captive audience, Jack. It is a fun, simple yet enjoyable tale that is especially heartwarming for those who have a special pet in their life and the illustrations are sure to bring a smile to your face. Our family really enjoyed reading this title by bestselling author, Bruce Littlefield and I am hopeful that this will become a “learn to read” book series with additional titles to come!
