In the interest of reviewing this book properly, my husband and I put the kids to bed and proceeded to sample several of the low-calorie cocktail recipes in this book. Since I have been making every effort to lose weight, I rarely enjoy a cocktail because I have been worried that it would disrupt my weight loss. The idea of a tasty yet low calorie Strawberry Daiquiri was also doubtful to me but after enjoying the Strawberry-Coconut Daiquiri which had a wonderful fresh berry taste with a hint of coconut from the naturally flavored rum…..I became a believer. This drink had only 112 calories per serving and was so refreshing and delicious. The recipe was also quite easy to make and used only a few ingredients that I already had in the house. I also appreciate that many of the recipes do not require diet soda since I don’t drink it still giving me lots of cocktail options (please note that there are recipes in this book that do include diet soda if you are a fan). If you are concerned about the calorie content of your drink but still want to enjoy a delicious cocktail then this is a must-have book. I plan to refer to this book quite a bit during our holiday get together parties with friends and family.
