Title: More Than Saying I Love You: 4 Powerful Steps That Help Children Love Themselves

Author: Andrea Goodman Weiner

My Review:

I have had the pleasure to read Dr. Andie’s book, More Than Saying I Love You. I have to say it was a very enjoyable experience and being a mom, it gave me some great advice and insight on my role as a mom. I think anyone that has a friend that is expecting a child, or any one that is currently expecting should have/receive this book. I can’t tell you how I wish I had this type of advice before I was a mother.

I practiced one of the things Dr. Andie mentioned in More Than Saying I Love You with my own 4 year old daughter. The simple exercise was to have her wrap her arms around herself and tell her that she loved herself. She thought it was silly, but it still was a fun thing for her to do and now she will do it whenever I mention that she needs to. I thought this was so sweet this one time we finished doing the exercise and she immediately wanted me to do the same for myself. What a lesson for a child to know that their parent loves them self also, don’t you agree?

This book was a breath fresh air. It would be wonderful for someone to have this knowledge to use from the time their child was an infant. I also think that those of us with older children can learn a lot from Dr. Andie’s philosophies.

*I received a copy of this book to review but I was not financially compensated in any way. The opinions expressed are my own and are based on my observations while reading this novel.*
